Question 1, in what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
At the start of the project to design a music magazine I had to do independent research to see how existing real music magazines are presented and the use of forms and conventions. My media product followed the basic forms and conventions of a real product. My media product is formatted and laid out with the masthead at the top of the magazine and also has an image of my model at the right angle and shot used for the front cover, double page spread and contents page. My product also has cover lines which relate with the model or relate with the stories and information inside of the magazine. I followed the typical forms and conventions of a real product to make it convincing and professional. By doing this my magazine is recognisable to the audience as a music magazine.
The magazine front cover of Vibe magazine has a typical masthead and cover lines and image positioning. My final product is fairly similar to this one.
The image on the right is my music magazine; it has the typical forms and conventions of a real magazine, it has the masthead, cover lines and an image in the middle.
Additionally, to make my music magazine recognisable and followed the conventions of a magazine I used a barcode at the bottom right of my front cover of my music magazine. This is a trade mark for all magazines to have to show professionalism as well as the masthead and other magazine features.

similarly, my double page spread uses the standard conventions of a real magazine. The layout it reasonably convincing with the image placed at the left centre of the page and the main headline at the top right of the page, also the text is under it laied out as a long collum which most magazines uses to layout their texts. I have also included a main selling point quote "From rags to riches" which is included to attract customers and may have a meaning and te customers would buy the magazine to find out what.
Whereas the magazine below 'Bronte' is laied out similar to my magazine; this makes my magzaine look convinving, conventional and real.
